Тёмная ночь | Why This Soviet War Song Deserves The Metal Treatment

"Dark is the night... only bullets whistle across the steppe..." 🌃❄️ "Dark is the Night" (Тёмная ночь) is one of the most poignant songs of World War II. It tells the story of a soldier in the freezing trenches, holding onto the memory of his wife and child to survive the darkness. This cover strips away the acoustic softness of the original and replaces it with the crushing weight of Industrial Doom Metal. This is not a march; it is a heavy lament for the long, cold nights of the Eastern Front. Performed in the original Russian to preserve the soul of the song. Original Song (1943): Music: Nikita Bogoslovsky Lyrics: Vladimir Agatov Original Performance: Mark Bernes Arrangement: Anna Keller (Industrial Doom Ver.)
