Cairngorms National park - Caledonian Pine Forest Photography, Scouting a location.

After getting over "Man Flu" I was in two minds whether to venture out with the camera.... Weather Forecast Aviemore - Plenty of fresh snow to fall - that's all I needed to hear! At 10:30am on a Sunday morning I drove 2.5 hours to the Cairngorms National Park for a wander. The purpose of this trip was to scout a location I have been wanting to photograph for years but never actually photographed - Rothiemurchus Forest, the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest. I have walked through this area whilst Munro bagging and mountain running and every time I pass through I always say to myself, "I need to come back here with the camera!" So this trip is more of a stroll around the area and a venture off the beaten trails to try and find some areas that I can re-visit and photograph at a later date when I have more time. The trip was a success as I cannot wait to get back and spend more time here and possibly a winter camp.
