Fire-extinguishing in oil heater

In August 2018 full-scale fire tests on gas powder fire-extinguishing installation BiZone MGPP-110-СО2-30-RH-АВСЕ-U2 were conducted. The tests at the preliminary water discharge unit took place in oilfield belonging to JSC Ozenmunaigaz , Kazakhstan. The oil heater was set for the working mode. Imitating the coil depressurization diesel fuel was fed to the industrial burner with the consumption of 1.6 kg/s. 105 seconds after the beginning of the test when the temperature of the flue gases reached 650C the gas-powder fire-extinguishing module BiZone MPP-110 was manually launched. It took 12 seconds to extinguish the fire in the tube-type burner. Diesel fuel feed to the industrial burner went on for 3 minutes with the total amount of 300 liters. The re-ignition wasn’t detected. 15 minutes later the burner was inspected. The inspection proved that the fire extinguishing agent didn’t have any devastating effect on the inner surface of the burner construction or the equipment.
