When the weather is fair and you stroll at the Charles Bridge, you will see many different vendors, painters and other artists. Among them all, six jazzmen stand out, and the unmistakable voice of their bandmaster, Jan Křtitel Novák, the singer, author of lyrics, and founder of the band, which came into existence soon after the Velvet Revolution of 1989 with the intent to play at Charles Bridge. With every passing year, however, the band has been asked to play at many different events and venues, and today you can hear Bridge Band at weddings, company celebrations, soirées, in one of many stylish restaurants in Prague -- you name it. The band has also been performing at music festivals and, from time to time, also in clubs and pubs not only in other Czech towns and cities, but also in abroad -- mainly in the German speaking countries around the Czech Republic, but also in Norway, Belgium etc. When the weather is fair, you can listen to Bridge Band at Charles Bridge every afternoon from 1 PM to 3:30 PM. http://www.bridgeband.cz/introduction.html Recorded by Sergey Krutko. Bridge Band en el Puente de Carlos, Praga. 1.07.2012 Jan Krtitel Novák, el cantante y jefe de la Bridge Band, se muestra satisfecho con la reciente disposición del Consejo Municipal de permitir las actuaciones artísticas en los espacios públicos de la ciudad, pero recuerda que ellos son de los más antiguos y que ya tocaban allí antes de la Revolución de Terciopelo de 1989. Ahora, después de dos años de protestas populares, la concejala de Cultura, Aleksandra Udzenija, ha manifestado que músicos, cantantes, acróbatas y demás artistas podrán ejercer libremente sus actividades al aire libre.
