The Economy of Resistance. Fifth Session of the Valdai Discussion Club’s 23rd Annual Meeting

The global economy is being predicted to face disasters due to the growing number of military-political and other upheavals. The most destructive scenarios have not yet materialized. However, the reluctance to address systemic problems, the massive accumulation of debt, and the onslaught of punitive political measures targeting market principles are exacerbating concern. Participants in the fifth session of the Valdai Discussion Club’s 23rd Annual Meeting discussed how can the economy overcome these political trends and to what degree do the global majority (the Global South and the East) and the global minority (the West) share a common perception of the challenges and prospects ahead.
