Rachmaninov / Vishnevskaya / Rostropovich: Night is Mournful, Op. 26, Nr. 12 - DG, 1976 - Lyrics

Galina Vishnevskaya, accompanied by her late husband Mstislav Rostropovich (1927-2007), performs Rachmaninov's "Night is Mournful" (Ночь печальна) Op. 26, Nr. 12. I made this video from the Deutsche Grammophon LP (serial number 2530 725, issued in 1976) pictured above. You can read the New York Times obituary for Rostropovich here: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/27/arts/music/27cnd-Rostropovichcnd.html --------------------------------------------------- Ночь печальна, как мечты мои. 1900 "David Hertzberg"
