Part 2. Make exhaust manifold jig fixture. I make a template, it's a matrix, for the production of a collector according to the size of the original factory exhaust manifold. Hummer H3 with a five-cylinder inline engine L52. The factory final collector is made of cast iron and proved to be constructively not finalized, the first shortest runner was broken off from the rest. My task is to make a strong collector and improve its performance. Unfortunately, it's not always possible to create and verify everything is suitable on a real machine. This adds the probability of an error. Later, when installed in the machine, the collector can rest against an undetected protrusion on the engine block or the mounting bracket. The jig , or the matrix on which the collector is built, should maximize the geometry of the reservoir location on the engine and take into account the obstacles that the structure under the hood may face. But, the first task of this template is to bring the manifold from the flange to the flange of the exhaust pipe of the exhaust system. The powerful construction of the base of the conductor is the guarantee of the correct geometry of the exhaust manifold. Flanges are made of stainless steel 10mm thick, after welding they are waiting for grinding the plane. On the other side is a 63mm v-band connection. The way the runners move from flange to flange is marked by the main nodes, and the most important one is the reduction of all the pipes into one.
