This song is a tribute to the women who refuse to blend into the background. I’ve always been deeply inspired by the kind of women who step out "dressed in flames", those who don't wait for permission, but demand the space to paint their own canvas.
I wouldn't have the courage to make my own music or fully embrace the art of being seen without the incredible women who have guided me. From the profound, loving influence of my mother, who shaped my creative soul and taught me to appreciate the beauty in nature, art, and a simple cup of tea, to the friends and mentors who continually push me forward, thank you. You showed me how to own my story, and this song is for you. There have also been plenty of men who have inspired me along the way but this one is for the women.
I wanted to do a dance video for the song and came up with these cool costumes. Dance videos are so much fun to make because of the editing. Trying to match the dancing to the music is hard but fun :-)

I made this video that has an underlying moon theme. So when I went to write the song for the video for some reason I got the idea of using the old trope about a famous writer and the young writer that falls in love with him. And when the famous writer dies, he asks the younger writer to burn his unfinished works. The young writer keeps the works and publishes them. It's been written about and lived over and over. Not sure what made me think of that but it seemed to fit.
The moon does not generate its own light; it reflects the sun. To the young protégé, the older writer seemed like a brilliant, self-sustaining sun. But in reality, he was the moon, channeling and reflecting brilliance, while harboring his own "brightest secret" and "lie." He was human, aging, and flawed, but he successfully projected an image of absolute brilliance to his young lover.
